Learning to make smart food choices is always going to work in your favor. With protein, quality matters over quantity. The best sources of protein are lean meat, nuts and seeds, eggs, beans, seafood and low-fat dairy. Beans and Legumes: Beans are loaded with protein, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that can benefit your muscles. They are slow digestives which can make you feel full for a long time and fuel weight loss.

The type of fiber found in lentils has been shown to feed the good bacteria in your colon, which can help promote a healthy gut. Lentils may also reduce your chance of heart disease, diabetes, excess body weight, and certain types of cancer
