Here’s a guilt-free recipe to indulge in for your gut, heart and muscles:
Wholegrain Chocolate panniyaram
Wheat flour- ½ cup
1 banana, small
Jaggery – 1/3rd cup
1-2 scoops of Protein & Herbs chocolate flavoured powder
2 tbsps cocoa powder
Rice flour – 2 tsp
Cooking soda – a pinch
Salt – a pinch
Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
Grated coconut – 2 tbsp (optional)
Ghee – 1.5 tbsp
Dissolve jaggery in water and filter it. In a separate bowl, mix all other ingredients except ghee, add jaggery and mix well. Add just enough water to mix well and form a lump-free batter (similar to idli batter consistency)
Heat the panniyaram pan, add ½ tsp. ghee in all the moulds, and proceed to fill them with the prepared batter. Set on reduced heat and cook, covered. When the corners starts to loosen up, flip over and cook uncovered until golden brown. Insert toothpick or fork in the centre of the dumpling to see if it comes out clean. If it does, then it is cooked.
Cool and serve, topped with chocolate sauce (optional).
